

What is Platinum Plus™?
A revolutionary
new finish to seal Aluminum against
man-made and natural solutions using a space-age
polymer. It's safe for all food applications and will
not fade, peel, or crack. And there is no painting
necessary.
How does Aluminum
get that bright,
shiny surface?
Our
PLATINUM PROCESS is a technique performed
on raw Aluminum before manufacturing it into its
finished form that produces the brilliant polished
look for which Electra-Gear is famous. During this
process, raw Aluminum goes through a series of
cleaning and tumbling cycles that enhance
corrosion resistance by removing impurities.
How is Platinum
Plus™ Applied?
Uncured
polymer is positively charged upon a
negatively charged piece of Aluminum. Then
manufactured, the polymer is heat cured to the
finished components, producing a pore-free
(99% corrosion resistant) finish that is chemically
bonded to the Aluminum.
How is Platinum
Plus™ Different than
Paint or Powder?
The Platinum Plus™ process produces a pore-free,
99% corrosion resistant finish without the outgassing
problems of paint or powder. Paint finish
is cured by
a coalescence of pigments and resins through an
outgassing process, and powder coatings cure
through a heat process in which an outgassing
occurs during water loss in the powder resins. Both
processes leave microscopic pores in the product's
finish which allows for passage of corroding
solutions, and thus product deterioration.
